Prayer Flag Printmaking Workshop
Creative Workshop at The HeArt Box
$110 all materials included
May 25th, 12 - 3pm
Ages 18 and up
Prayer flags are traditionally created in Tibet, Nepal and India. Prayers, mantras are printed onto cloth fabric and sewn onto strings. When hung up and they blow in the wind, the intention is that as the fabric blows and unravels with the weather, prayers are released into the world. For this workshop the hope is that everyone will create their own intention in a symbolic form, this is not a traditional prayer flag connected with any religion just your own wish, intention.
This workshop is a printmaking workshop primarily, learning to block print on fabric, each participant will create a beautiful string of prayer flags, created with the intention of love & peace for all beings in your outdoor space. Each participant will be encouraged to create their own symbol for that with the instruction and guidance from Jill Sans.
This will be a basic linocut workshop where you will design your own block to print from. Each participant will print their flags, when finished everyone will have a full set of flags to string up, no sewing required for this workshop. You will have the option to take home and finish sewing or they will be finished up by instructor for pickup at later date. All levels are welcome, including absolute beginners.
